Vauxhall have more than 400 independent retail outlets across the UK. Work for a Vauxhall retailer and you can expect an exciting and rewarding career in a choice of different roles. Opportunities for professional training and development are supported by the GM Academy, and you’ll get support from a quality employer, too.
When a customer enters a Vauxhall dealership, they enter the sales department. And it’s here where a retailer’s knowledgeable, friendly and professional sales consultants work.
As our vehicles become more technically advanced, we need to ensure we have the highest calibre of people selling them to our customers. As well as an in-depth knowledge of our product range, sales consultants need to be able to quickly tune in to what their customers are after, whether they’re looking for a new or a used Vauxhall.
In a showroom, customers needing maintenance or service for their Vauxhall will usually be directed to a service reception, again staffed by qualified and experienced people.
In our modern workshops, teams of technicians work closely with a retailer’s service advisors to ensure that any Vauxhall needing a service or repair is looked after and back on the road as quickly as possible.
Technicians are titled according to their experience, from service technician, to diagnostic technician and finally senior or master technician. Those new to the trade typically start as an apprentice.
Near the service reception in a Vauxhall showroom you’ll usually find the parts department. Here, retail and trade customers can talk to knowledgeable staff to organise replacement parts or approved accessories.
Accountants, administrators, body repair specialists, business managers – they all work for Vauxhall retailers, and there are many other roles available, too. If you’re interested in finding out about a position that isn’t outlined here, contact your local Vauxhall Retailer.
