Vauxhall tops Northern Ireland sales charts

05-Oct-2012

Vauxhall was the top choice for car buyers in Northern Ireland in September 2012, according to figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

Vauxhall has sold over 2,500 cars so far in 2012 and over 400 in September alone. Our market share is up to 11.52 per cent from 8.83 per cent last year.

The Corsa supermini topped its segment last month, while the Zafira MPV was number one in its segment in September and year-to-date. The Astra, produced at our Ellesmere Port plant, is number one in its segment so far in 2012.

“We are delighted to be Northern Ireland’s biggest-selling car manufacturer and very happy to have Corsa, Astra and Zafira all doing well in their respective segments,” said Gordon Hannen, Vauxhall’s Regional Operations Manager for Northern Ireland.

Sales have been buoyed by our unique Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty which provides first owners with the reassurance of comprehensive cover for however long they own the car. Vauxhall is also the lead sponsor of the Northern Ireland Football Team.

September 2012 was also an excellent month for Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles. We sold more vans in the UK to small businesses than any other manufacturer.
