The UK’s most anarchic art fair is back

The day the art world lets its hair down is set to kick off this summer.

It’s no long until the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair parks up in Brick Lane Yard with a fantastic line-up of established and up-and-coming artists. They’ll be personally pitchingup to sell original and limited edition works of art out of the back of new and vintage Vauxhall cars.

A few familiar faces will show up on the day, including Tracey Emin, Sir Peter Blake, Polly Morgan, Matt Collishaw, True Rocks, Gavin Turk, Ben Eine, Pam Hogg, Bob and Roberta Smith, Jessica Albarn, Turps Banana with Marcus Harvey, Pure Evil, James Unsworth and Kristijana Williams.

And we won’t be short of a few newcomers either, with Rachel Howard, Marc Quinns, Lisa Milroy, Dolores de Sade, Elli Popp, Ray Richardson, Holly Allan, Print Battles, Smithson Gallery and the Soho Art Society selling their work at bargain prices.

Don’t forget, the big event is happening on Sunday 14 June from 12 – 6pm at Brick Lane Yard on the Corner of Brick Lane and Buxton Street in London. Tickets to the art-buying frenzy are just £5 and with so much crammed into one day, there’s no shortage of things to see.

Dogs jostle in a VIVA’s boot at the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair

Dog in a Boot Show

After a dozen wildly successful years we're finally going to the dogs. We’ve invited our artists to present a myriad of canine influenced artworks at the fair. All good-natured dogs are welcome on leads with responsible owners and they’ll have a one-off chance to be photographed with their owners in a car boot by artist Maria Teresa Gavazzi. One lucky mutt will even win the Best in Boot prize!

Art on a Vauxhall Car Bonnet
Artists Jake & Dinos Chapman, Bob & Roberta Smith, Rachel Howard, Ben Eine, Matt Small and Oisin Byrne will be creating art on Vauxhall car bonnets. Bidders will have the unique opportunity to buy an original piece during a live auction at the end of the day and all the money’s going to a good cause. Each artist is donating the proceeds from their bonnet to Just for Kids Law or The Hepatitis C Trust.

Daylight Cabaret
As usual the car park will be full of English eccentricity, incredible bargains, eclectic wares and madcap performances. Richard Strange's Cabaret Futura will be hosting a Daylight Cabaret with staggering singers, hilarious stand ups and unforgettable acts including Sarah Jane Morris, Tim Etchells, The Band of Holy Joy, Oh Standfast, Kria and Silvia Ziranek.

A Daytrip to Margate
On 30th August the Fair takes a trip to the seaside, joining forces with Margate’s Turner Contemporary. Tracey Emin will be bringing brand new limited editions to the Fair in her hometown along some other homegrown Kentish talent including Vic Reeves and everyone we can squeeze in from our London event! Keep your eyes peeled, we’ll be announcing the lineup in July.
