Former England striker and Vauxhall Ambassador Ian Wright selected the Astra VXR as his car of choice. The England forward will be driving a top-of-the-range Astra VXR and joins an impressive list of sporting names who’ve recently got behind the wheel of a Vauxhall.
England Women’s star Toni Duggan is the latest ambassador for the Astra GTC, Wales captain Ashley Williams is getting to know the new Insignia and Scotland’s Ikechi Anya will soon be driving a Cascada.
The ever-increasing contingent of Vauxhall drivers from the world of football is an encouraging sign for the British car manufacturer as they enter their second four-year term as official Home Nations Football sponsor.
Ian Wright, said: “It’s a great privilege to be a Vauxhall Ambassador, It’s an important time for Vauxhall and the England team going into the Euros next summer and I’m honoured to be a part of it.”
Cheryl Stibbs, Vauxhall’s Sponsorship Marketing Manager, said: “It’s fantastic to see such elite athletes representing our brand in what is a huge year for sport.
“The Astra VXR is a cutting edge vehicle and provides a magnificent driving experience that we hope will attract more high profile individuals to join the Vauxhall family.”
The former England frontman took his new VXR for a Track Day Experience at Thurxton Circuit. He was joined by other Vauxhall customers, as well as racing driver and BTCC commentator Paul O’Neill, who gave him a master-class in driving on the track.
