On 12 June 2016, Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair – the iconic event that sees the art world let its hair down – returned to the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, London.
On show was original artwork on the theme of ‘the hand’, sold by established and up-and-coming artists out of the back of new and vintage Vauxhall cars.
The Queen’s 90th birthday was also celebrated, with artfully-made finger food, quirky circus acts and magic tricks bringing a street-party vibe to the mini festival. Special exhibits included one by artist Christian Furr who is the youngest ever artist commissioned to officially paint Queen Elizabeth II.
The line-up of artists included Tracey Emin, Gavin Turk, Pam Hogg, Sir Peter Blake, Ben Eine, Polly Morgan in collaboration with True Rocks, Marcus Harvey, Colin Self, Pure Evil, Mat Collishaw and Charming Baker.
The next Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair will be at as Hastings, Sussex, on 16 July.
