New 1.7 engines for New Astra

NEW 1.7 ENGINES FOR NEW ASTRA

The sportier styling courtesy of the new-look front end given to New Astra coincides with the introduction of a quartet of new 1.7-litre turbo diesel engines, supplementing the existing ultra-low emissions (99g/km hatchback, 105g/km Sports Tourer) 110PS and 130PS ecoFLEX Start/Stop units, which carry over.

The 110PS non-Start/Stop engine now delivers 8% more torque to an impressive 280Nm, while the previous 125PS non-Start/Stop engine has been boosted to 130PS with a corresponding increase of 20Nm of torque (300Nm max). Both of these engines are available in ecoFLEX Start/Stop guises too.

The addition of Start/Stop to the new engines has resulted in a price re-alignment of an additional £295 over the out-going Astra equivalents without this technology.

Full details of the New Astra range pricing is contained in the latest edition of the Vauxhall Car and Accessory Price Guide, effective July 2012.

More kit for New Astra Tech Line

MORE KIT FOR NEW ASTRA TECH LINE

How do you make the best-value New Astra even better? Simple. Give the Tech Line models even more kit as standard!

And that means in addition to enjoying the benefits of air conditioning, satellite navigation with colour monitor, 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth® and USB connectivity, DMB digital radio and cruise control, the New Astra Tech Line driver gains a leather-covered steering wheel (complete with audio controls) and a multi-function trip computer – so handy for keeping an eye on fuel consumption and journey times/distances.

With P11D prices starting at just £16,485 and with Benefit-in-Kind taxation from just 13% (tax year 2012-13), the New Astra Tech Line should be on every Company Car Driver’s wish list.

Corsavan: even cleaner

CORSAVAN: EVEN CLEANER

Latest updates to the ever-popular Corsavan’s 1.3-litre turbo diesel engines have resulted in still lower emissions, and even better fuel economy – up to 83.1mpg (Combined)*.

The 95PS ecoFLEX Start/Stop engine was already impressive, but now its emissions have been cut to just 89g/km (a 6g/km reduction) – while fuel economy has been boosted by nearly 6%.

At the same time, its 75PS Start/Stop variant has also had a reduction in CO2 and an increase in mpg.

Every little counts... and with nearly another 5mpg potentially available, the savings soon add up.
