ASTRA: MILES BETTER THAN A GOLF

13-Mar-2012

The Astra hatchback Exclusiv 1.7CDTi 16v 110PS and 130PS ecoFLEX Start/Stop models can travel up to an impressive 938 miles between refills compared to the equivalent VW offering, the Golf 1.6TDI (105PS) BlueMotion, which does up to 899 miles.*

Look at the figures for the Combined cycle, and you’ll see that both versions of the Astra achieve 76.3mpg – whereas the Golf manages 74.3mpg. And, as you’d expect from a Vauxhall, power is not sacrificed for economy with Astra being up to 28% more powerful than the VW.

As another aid to fuel economy, most Astra models come with cruise control as standard, it’s £235 extra on the equivalent Golf.

And, as if all this wasn’t enough, all Astra models come with Vauxhall’s industry-leading Lifetime Warranty which is valid for the lifetime of the car (up to a maximum of 100,000 miles warranty to the first owner). With a Golf BlueMotion you’ll get a 3 year/60,000 mile (whichever comes first).

We’ve also recently launched our Tech Line range – in both Astra and Insignia guises – which come with high specifications and low P11D values. Click here for more details.

So, if you thought the VW BlueMotion models were the last word in fuel efficiency – think again. The 99g/km Astra hatchback ecoFLEX models are, quite simply, miles better.
