Vivaro - British success

Founded in 1903, Vauxhall is the UK’s oldest operational automotive brand and has a very proud history of building cars and vans from its manufacturing plants in both Luton (Bedfordshire) and Ellesmere Port (Cheshire). During 2012, the 1,000 strong work force at Luton produced 53,465 Vivaro type vans. However, perhaps even more impressively, 55% of those vans went for export throughout Europe.

For the past eleven years, our Luton production facility has built more commercial vehicles in the UK than any other manufacturer; almost double that of its nearest competitor in 2012. And announcements that the new generation Vivaro (planned for 2014) will also be built in Luton, further strengthens its importance to the UK economy.

The very latest Vivaro also triumphed at the prestigious Fleet World – MPG marathon, registering a highly enviable 65.16mpg and continues to build on its impressive reputation.
