While there are a host of minor changes and updates throughout most of the Vauxhall range for the 2014.5 Model Year, the following represent the most significant.







  • Astra Elite hatchback now benefits from the availability of the 99g/km 1.7CDTi 16v ecoFLEX Start/Stop engines (110PS and 130PS)
  • For the first time, there is an Elite trim available with the Sports Tourer body style. It benefits from the availability of the 105g/km 1.7CDTi 16v (110PS and 130PS) ecoFLEX Start/Stop engines, and in addition, there are both 2.0CDTi 16v (165PS) diesel and 1.6i 16v (115PS) petrol engines, each with either manual or automatic transmission

As previously announced, we are simplifying our model range for businesses. Following the launch of our Tech Line, Tech Line GT and Design ranges, we are now removing the ES, Exclusiv and SE trims from our Astra line-up.


As previously communicated, the second-generation Meriva with its unique-in-sector FlexDoors system (where the rear-hinged rear doors provide easier access with increased safety) now benefits from a mid-cycle enhancement that delivers:


  • Updated styling with new grille, new eagle-eye headlights and chrome accents which frame the front fog lights
  • New 1.6CDTi 16v (136PS) ecoFLEX Start/Stop engine (Euro 6 compliant)
  • All petrol engines now Euro 6 compliant
  • Introduction of new 18in alloy wheel
  • New optional Sat Nav systems with Intellilink


A major advantage of the new 1.6CDTi engine (fresh from its launch in Zafira Tourer) is that as well as giving a useful 6PS/20Nm boost in power/torque over its predecessor, is that emissions are down to just 116g/km, and fuel economy improved to 64.2mpg (Combined). That means a BiK rate now of just 18% instead of 22%, and a massive 10% improvement in economy. In addition the new engine delivers a quieter and more refined driving experience.


Astra GTC

  • New 1.6i 16v Direct Injection Turbo Start/Stop introduced with 200PS power output – 20PS more than its predecessor



  • New 1.6i 16v Direct Injection Turbo (manual transmission) introduced with 200PS power output



  • 1.7CDTi 16v (130PS) engine is no longer available
