New Zafira Tourer: welcome to the comfort zone

New Zafira Tourer builds on the success story of the original Zafira concept with more space, more adjustment and altogether more functionality.

Highlights include Vauxhall’s innovative Lounge Seating system (standard on SE and Elite models) – a clever rethinking of the impressive Flex7^® seating system: now the three second row seats slide rearward and inward to create two welcoming, ‘captain‘ style chairs, while the centre seat converts to an armrest, providing additional comfort.

Clever, leisure-orientated design comes from the optional new FlexFix^® carrier – fully integrated in the rear bumper – which can carry two bikes (up to four with the optional accessory FlexFix^® extension).

The power of self expression
Drive-wise, new Zafira Tourer combines reassuring levels of grip with serious agility, with bespoke steering and suspension settings specifically tuned to the harsh demands of UK roads. A Watt’s link rear set-up promotes a smoother, more stable ride, while optional FlexRide^® with Continuous Damping Control lets you change the car’s driving dynamics at the touch of a button. In ‘Sport’ mode, FlexRide^® sharpens the dampers and hones the steering and throttle response; in ‘Tour’ mode, it selects the best settings for gentler, long-distance cruising.

The ultimate choice list
New Zafira Tourer can also be equipped with a range of sophisticated active safety options, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Following Distance Indicator and Forward Collision Alert (complete with Automatic Brake Intervention) plus Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition. Drivers can also specify Advanced Parking Assistant with Side Blind Spot Alert for easier parking and safer lane changing.

A purer driving dynamic
Under the bonnet, drivers can choose from seven advanced Euro 5-compliant units: 140PS 1.8-litre petrol and 140PS 1.4-litre turbo petrol engines (including a special low emissions version) plus fuel saving 2.0-litre turbo diesels, producing 110PS, 130PS and 165PS respectively. The 130PS unit can be specified with Vauxhall’s best-selling ecoFLEX technology, providing excellent fuel economy and outstandingly low emissions of just 119g/km^*1 of CO2. That equates to £0 first year Vehicle Excise Duty (just £30 thereafter) and the lowest diesel banding for Benefit in Kind tax^*2.
