SAFETY

Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) including traction control

ESP helps the driver maintain full control of the vehicle during extreme conditions. Sensors monitor yaw rate, steering angle and lateral acceleration of the car independently and compares their directions of travel with the driver's steering-wheel input. If either the front or rear of the vehicle begins to slide, ESP gently applies corrective braking to the appropriate individual road wheel to restore stability.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

Braking efficiency drops dramatically when wheels stop turning and start to skid. ABS uses sensors to detect the point at which each wheel is about to lock. Just short of this point ABS momentarily releases then re-applies brake pressure many times a second to keep the brakes working at optimum efficiency.

Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL)

Adaptive Forward Lighting dynamic bending light: the headlamp moves 15° left and right depending on the angle of the steering wheel, so road curves are better illuminated. It also contains a motorway light, which increases the reach by moving the beam up automatically at motorway speeds.

Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)

Emergency Brake Assist detects the urgency with which the brake pedal is pressed and rapidly increases the pressure to the maximum the system can provide, shortening stopping distances. It also enhances pedal feel.

Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

EBD works together with the anti-lock braking system. It adjusts individual wheel braking power according to the load and weight distribution inside the vehicle. This enables the car to brake in a stable manner, whatever load you're carrying.
