European Car of the Year

The Ampera became European Car of the Year 2012 at the Geneva International Motorshow in March. The panel of 59 journalists from 23 European countries voted Ampera number one, with the highest score coming from the UK judges.

Top Gear Magazine Green Car of the Year 2011

In December 2011, Top Gear Magazine voted the Vauxhall Ampera their Green Car of the Year 2011. The magazine said: Ampera "combine[s] a load of realistic green technologies to produce a car that's practical and easy to use."

NCAP 5 Star CRASH TEST

The Ampera was awarded five stars by the independent European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). Ampera exceeded the number of points needed to achieve the top rating in all categories including occupant protection, child safety, pedestrian protection and safety assist.

What Car? Green Car of the Year 2011

What Car? – the UK's leading consumer-focused motoring magazine – named the Vauxhall Ampera as its Green Car of the Year 2011. The Ampera was also its top alternative-fuel car.
