Interactive Driving System (IDS)
One of the key innovations is the Interactive Driving System (IDS). It sets standards in the field of dynamics and active safety. The concept is based on the perfect interaction between the chassis and the further developed, electronically supported chassis control systems.
Driving dynamics
The standard anti-locking braking system (ABS) on the Vauxhall Astravan features Cornering Brake Control (CBC) to neutralise oversteering while braking in a curve. This results in more dynamic behaviour. The master brake unit of the Vauxhall Astravan features a brake assist function. In case of rapid movement of the brake pedal, the brake force is increased progressively to the maximum. As well as the ESP®Plus-intervention in understeering situations, the Understeer Control Logic (UCL) adapts the vehicle speed to the curve radials via active brake intervention.
