Log in FAQ

If you are having problems logging in, please check to see if you are experiencing one of the common reasons below.
Q: Did you complete all the required fields?
A: Please make sure all the fields marked with an asterisk (*) are completed, as these are mandatory.
Q: Are all the fields completed correctly?
A: If correct, all fields will have a green border. If they contain incorrect information, the border will be red.
Q: Is your browser functioning properly?
A: If you have been on the internet for a long time, your browser may need to be cleared of the websites you have visited. This is easily done by emptying your cache. Please follow these instructions:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Tools in the upper toolbar.
  3. Click Internet Options to open Internet Properties.
  4. Click the General tab
  5. Click Delete Files under "Temporary Internet Files".
  6. Check Delete all offline content.
  7. Click OK on the Delete Files dialog box.
  8. Click Apply and then OK.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Tools in the upper toolbar or click on the Tools icon.
  3. Click Internet Options to open Internet Properties.
  4. Click the General tab
  5. Click Delete under "Browsing History".
  6. Click Delete Files under "Temporary Internet Files".
  7. Click Yes on the Delete Files dialog box.
  8. Click Close and then OK.
Firefox 3 for Windows
  1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data, and then check Cache.
  2. Click Clear Private Data Now.
Firefox 3 for Mac OS X
  1. In Firefox, from the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data.
  2. Make sure Cache is checked, and then click Clear Private Data Now.
Safari
  1. From the Safari menu, select Empty Cache.
  2. When prompted, click Empty to confirm that you want to empty the cache.
Q: Are you a Vauxhall driver?
A: The Drivers' Centre is for Vauxhall drivers only. Therefore, registration numbers from other manufacturers will not enable you to access the Vauxhall Drivers' Centre website.
Q: Have you recently purchased your car?
A: The Drivers’ Centre database is updated every 4 weeks. So if you’ve recently purchased your car, your details may not be in our database. Please return at a later date and check again.
Q: Do you have personalised registration plates?
A: If you've recently purchased or transferred personal registration plates, they may not be in our database yet, as the Drivers' Centre database is updated every 4 weeks. Please return at a later date and check again.
Q: Are cookies turned on in your browser?
A: The Drivers' Centre uses cookies to retrieve your details. If you have disabled your browser cookies you will need to re-register each time you visit the site.
To enable cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version you are using.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+
  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click on the Privacy tab.
  3. Click the Default button (or manually slide the bar down to Medium) under Settings.
  4. Click OK.
Firefox for Windows and Mac
  1. From the top menu bar, open the Tools menu or the Firefox menu (Mac). When a drop-down menu appears, pick Options for Windows and Preferences for a Mac.
  2. Click on the Privacy icon. Look for the box labeled Cookies.
  3. Check the box next to Accept Cookies From Sites.
  4. Close the box and then click on Show Cookies to see all the current cookies on your computer.
  5. Finally, to enable cookies in Firefox click OK for Windows or close the preferences box for a Mac.
Safari
  1. Go to the Safari menu and click Preferences.
  2. In the Security box, go to the Accept Cookies section and click on Always.
  3. Click the close button to fully enable the cookies.
