UK CUSTOMS MANAGER - PINLEY HOUSE, COVENTRY

What you can expect

As an experienced Customs Manager, you will be responsible for managing UK Customs Team and supporting on complex issues to ensure full understanding and compliance. Acting as the Expert, this role will involve understanding EU and UK customs legislation and implement solutions where necessary, including IT software changes.

 

Other Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work with other stakeholders to understand the impact of Brexit and take relevant action to mitigate risk to the business.
  • Ensuring that Vauxhall Standards are maintained through Desk procedures and Internal Controls
  • Liaison with HMRC as required.
  • Oversee performance contracted Customs Brokers.
  • Monitoring and reporting relevant data to maintain Vauxhall Custom’s simplifications and Authorisations.
  • Ensuring extraordinary non EU purchases are captured and calculated correctly.
  • Oversee calculation of retrospective duty payments due on items after import.
  • Close monitoring of monthly Duty and VAT spend.
  • Determining that the appropriate duty and VAT has been paid to HMRC, overseeing recalculations for Tooling, Transfer Pricing and engineering acquisitions. This can require a decision on how best to fund a given months duty/VAT levy.
  • Producing accurate reports for transfer of data to HMRC and to maintain OVUK's customs simplification authorisations.
  • Oversee the contact with contracted brokers on the correct methods for customs clearance of OVUK materials ensuring correct payments of VAT and duty are levied, and internal controls are followed.
  • Overseeing the production of retrospective monthly reports to HMRC accounting for the pricing adjustments made after import. This includes tooling, TP and supplier credit notes.
  • Manage the implementation of new initiatives including third-party customs software changes and changes/amendments to EU and UK customs legislation.
  • Attend relevant customs meetings with trade bodies including SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) and ACITA (Automated Customs and International Trade Association) to keep abreast of any relevant customs legislative changes or relevant industry information.

What you can expect

As an experienced UK Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing & ensuring tax compliance including preparation of UK corporate tax returns, managing tax payments, claims and elections for organisation's entities. 

 

Other key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Tax accounting under UK GAAP for statutory accounts purposes. 
  • Assisting with monthly/quarterly tax accounting/reporting. 
  • Assisting with responding to any HMRC enquiries. 
  •  Managing SAO compliance. 
  • Managing the reporting for Taxed Award Schemes, PAYE Settlement Agreements and Employee Related Share scheme annual return. 
  • Managing the STBV reporting process. 
  •  Involvement in Tax Planning both for the UK and Internationally. 
  •  Involvement in managing advisors. 
  •  Initial preparation of VAT returns under the supervision of the VAT Manager 
  • Assisting the Head of Tax and business units where necessary. 

 

What we expect

  • An ideal candidate for UK Tax Manager role should be/have the following: 
  • Be ACA/ACCA and or CTA qualified 
  • With post qualification corporate tax experience 
  • Preferably, but not necessarily, be ‘Big 4’ trainer 
  • Possess strong team coordination skills 
  • Be enthusiastic and have good interpersonal skills 
  • Have strong experience in Tax accounting

FIXED TERM PRODUCTION OPERATOR - IBC VEHICLES    

To support the requirement for increased build Vauxhall Motors, IBC plant are now recruiting 23-month fixed term production positions across all main production units.

The job role you have applied is within the Luton Plant Manufacturing facility, therefore, you will be within a factory environment.

 

The role will require you to perform repetitive tasks on the production line to a high-quality standard by following verbal and written instruction. You will be expected to follow standardised work to a high level with minimal mistakes ensuring you follow all safety procedures.

WAREHOUSE OPERATIVES - TODDINGTON WAREHOUSE

We are currently looking for Warehouse Operatives to join the Vauxhall Motors Toddington Warehouse team in 2019.

 

To support the requirement for increased business at Vauxhall, the Warehouse are now recruiting employees on a 23-month fixed term production contract with a view to permanent positions being available after this period.

 

The job roles within the Warehouse will require employees to receive incoming material, pick stock , collate for distribution and quality control. There may be a requirement for employees to train as a fork lift truck driver.

 

The role will require you to perform repetitive tasks within the Warehouse to a high quality standard by following written and verbal instructions. You will be expected to follow a standardised work process to ensure safety, productivity and quality.

 

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, with a start time of either 07:15 or 15:24. Shift allocation is confirmed upon successful assessment.

 

We are looking for employees who:

  • Have Health & Safety at the forefront of their minds at all times.
  • Have experience in working within Warehousing.
  •  Ability to learn how to use Powered Equipment.
  • A good team player capable of delivering excellent results to strict deadlines.

The pay rate is £9.42 an hour and successful candidates will be contracted to a minimum of 30 hours per week. The company will require employees contractually to flex their hours up to 43 hours per week with reasonable notice.

 

Employees would receive the applicable shift premium rate in addition for working on the late shift.

It is a condition of employment that you should be prepared to work on any shift when requested to do so, in line with current working operations.

AFTERSALES ROLES - COVENTRY

The Aftersales department is responsible for over half of Vauxhall's operating profit. This is achieved by selling Vauxhall genuine parts and accessories through various channels within the Vauxhall network. These channels include: Trade sales, parts sales through the service departments, and accident repairs through our network of approved body shops. To support these channels, we promote several marketing campaigns and programmes which are designed to create and maintain customer retention and customer satisfaction.

 

Under the Aftersales Undergraduate scheme, you will be deployed to a specific role within the Aftersales team where your focus can vary from fulfilling retailer orders, answering retailer and supplier queries, maintaining close relationships with the field team, order tracking, maintaining of the CRM system for dealer success, populating different reports to give to the Aftersales Exec team budget tracking, literature stock control to Supplier Quarterly Review arrangement.
