ABOUT OUR COMPANY
Vauxhall Motors
Founded in 1903
Managing director: Stephen Norman
Vauxhall is the UK’s oldest surviving car brand, its first models rolling off the line in 1903, since when it has had a continuous manufacturing history in Great Britain.
Along the way, it’s produced the world’s first sports car and Britain’s first 100mph car. It’s provided critical support for our forces through two world wars, and brought high-tech car construction to the masses. It’s honed every-day performance cars through success in motorsport and built SUVs in Britain before the term even existed. It also revolutionised MPV design, and has launched award-winning models that have pioneered new technology. Almost 14-million cars later, that ingenious, progressive spirit is still deep in Vauxhall’s DNA.
Today, Vauxhall remains woven into the fabric of Britain’s motoring life. Luton, its spiritual home since 1905, is base to the Vivaro van plant – the only light commercial vehicle factory in the country. Vauxhall is also head-quartered in the Bedfordshire town, with its one-million-square-foot parts warehouse nearby. In Cheshire, Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port Plant has been building compact car lines since 1963, including the Viva, Chevette and all seven generations of the Astra. It currently produces the Astra Hatch and Sports Tourer models.
Vauxhall: British Brand since 1903.
Vauxhall Motors is part of Groupe PSA.
