The GTC VXR didn’t just turn heads. It blew minds. It produced more power and torque than any car in its class: achieving 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds. Packing a beefy 280PS, 400Nm, 2.0-litre turbocharged direct injection engine, it was quicker than its main rivals by 40-50Nm, and achieved a top speed of 155mph.
While it was based on the Astra GTC, the GTC VXR had a custom-built chassis – developed at Nürburgring - which transformed it into a focused, high performance coupé with specially developed HiPerStrut front suspension, limited-slip differential and Watts link semi-independent rear suspension. Power and performance, the GTC VXR came fully loaded and ready to fire.
