To contact OnStar, press one of three buttons:

  1. Blue for Service – this button puts you through to an OnStar advisor – and whichever service you need.
  2. Red for SOS – this button gets you immediate help in an emergency. It gives you a priority line to an OnStar advisor who will get support to you.
  3. Black for Privacy – if you’d prefer not to let us know where you are. This button prevents OnStar from locating your vehicle, except in an emergency (for example, if you have an accident or someone steals your car).

With OnStar, nothing happens unless you agree to it. Here’s why:

 

  • You choose a PIN when you set up your account. And if you want to use Remote Door Unlock1 or Stolen Vehicle Assistance, your advisor will ask for it. So access to your car is secure.
  • Want to hide your car’s location? Just push and hold the Privacy button for five seconds. The only exception is during a real emergency.2
  • We’ll never pass on your personal data without your agreement. It will only be disclosed to:
    • OnStar and GM Holdings LLC (USA), its affiliate companies (e.g. Adam Vauxhall GmbH)
    • preferred dealers that you choose
    • companies that provide or carry out OnStar services
    • other service companies, at your request.

We'll help get your stolen car back

Hang on… Where’s your car gone?

 

If it’s been stolen, OnStar1 can help find it. First, you’ll need to report the theft to the police. Then:

 

  • OnStar will find and track your Vauxhall via GPS – and tell the police where it is.
  • We can permanently disable your car’s ignition if the engine is switched off. This stops the thief from driving further.
