The combination of our ecoFLEX technology and family of state-of-the-art, four-cylinder ‘Whisper Diesel’ engines delivers ultra-efficiency, and smooth power with high levels of reward. Unmistakably quiet and refined, ecoFLEX diesel engines – boast vastly reduced levels of noise, vibration and harshness.
The most economical and efficient ecoFLEX diesel models are highlighted below:
Vauxhall’s cutting edge Start/Stop fuel saving and emissions reduction technology is available on all of our ecoFLEX ‘Whisper Diesel’ CDTi engines. The system switches the engine off when the vehicle stops at the lights or in traffic and then restarts it automatically once the clutch is depressed.
Efficiency is also aided by the addition of our brake energy regeneration system. This re-uses energy recovered from vehicle braking, helping to improve overall fuel consumption.
The BlueInjection Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR) in selected ecoFLEX diesel engines (eg the 2.0CDTi Insignia Hatchback and Insignia Tourer) is an environmentally-friendly exhaust after-treatment in which a diesel exhaust fluid named AdBlue, consisting of just urea and water, is injected into the exhaust gas to ensure engine emissions are cleaner and Euro 6 emissions standards compliant.

Fuel and CO2 emissions data complies with the relevant EU testing regulations used by vehicles manufacturers to enable comparisons between different models. Important, please note that fuel consumption can be affected by many factors including driving style, road and traffic conditions, vehicle mileage and standard of maintenance. In addition these results relate to the particular vehicle tested, inevitably there will be differences between individual vehicles of the same model.
