A new level of comfort and well-being

The Vauxhall Astra establishes new standards for ergonomics, storage and high-quality comfort.

Ergonomic sports seat

No matter how far you drive, seat comfort is vital. The Astra delivers it with an optional fully orthopaedic driver's ergonomic sports seat that adjusts six ways, with four-way lumbar support to suit your posture perfectly.

Electric park brake

Standard on the SRi, SE and Elite models, the new touch operated electric park brake, both increases parking security and decreases driver effort. In combination with hill start assist and hill hold, both of which prevent the car rolling backwards when stopped on a hill, it gets you moving smoothly and effortlessly with increased comfort and safety.

Electronic climate control (ECC)

Air quality and control is a major aspect of the Astra interior comfort. The ECC offers a new quietness and sense of control, including individual driver setting memory. The air is charcoal filtered and both front seat occupants can choose their preferred temperature separately. The ECC also features controlled partial air recirculation for improved heat up and cooling performance.

Infotainment systems

Whether receiving traffic information, dynamic navigation guidance, accessing radio stations, or your iPod, the integrated infotainment system in the Astra is as beautifully intuitive to use as it is beautiful to look at.

You can choose the system that’s just right for you, from stereo CD-radio with MP3-playback and aux-in to state-of-the-art navigation system. The sat nav also features a USB connection that provides iPod control via the steering wheel and the display.

To connect your mobile phone, you can choose an optional wireless Bluetooth™ solution or an integrated system with enhanced functionality. All important phone functions can be operated from the steering wheel, faceplate, or through voice control.

Infinity Sound System

For absolute premium sound the Astra also offers the option of the exceptional Infinity Sound System. This uses 7x45 W direct channels to drive eight premium speakers. The audio signal is digitalised to be fine tuned with digital sound processing (DSP) for accurate sound response. For you the difference is better all-round sound reproduction under all driving conditions.

Endless storage facilities

The Astra puts convenient storage within easy reach of the driver and passengers. Features include door pockets front and rear with bottle holders, cup holders, a large glove box, and front and rear centre armrests with closed storage compartments.

Luggage compartment with FlexFloor

Available as an option, the split-folded rear seat backrest allows to increase the load capacity of the Astra in stages from 351 to 1216 litres. The unique three-position FlexFloor system increases the flexibility even further. It can lower the floor to maximise rear load height and volume. In the centre position the floor panel is flush with the folded rear seats for maximum flat load space and when fully raised it is flush with the rear sill for ease of loading and unloading.
