Standards and Methodology
Electric vehicle range figures are measured according to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) combined cycle. WLTP is a global standard for determining the levels of pollutants and CO2 emissions, fuel or energy consumption, and range of vehicles. It aims to provide more realistic figures compared to previous testing methods by using more dynamic driving cycles and stricter measurement conditions.

Positioning Context
The Vauxhall Combo Electric and Vivaro Electric models operate within the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment, targeting SME business customers and sole traders. These vehicles are designed for commercial use, offering cargo capacity, payload, and towing capabilities suitable for various business operations. The introduction of price parity aims to position electric variants as a financially equivalent option to traditional diesel models within this utility-focused market.
Brand / Historical Context
Vauxhall Motors commenced vehicle manufacturing in the UK in 1903. The brand is part of Stellantis NV, a global automotive group formed in January 2021 from the merger of Groupe PSA and FCA Group. Vauxhall's manufacturing plant in Ellesmere Port is the UK’s first electric vehicle-only volume manufacturing plant, where the Combo Electric van is produced. As of 2021, Vauxhall was one of the first manufacturers to offer fully electric versions of all its vans, and by the end of 2024, it offered a fully electric version of every model in its car and van line-up.
