VAUXHALL MARKET SHARE CONTINUES TO GROW
Outperforming a declining market, Vauxhall’s first half 2019 market share for cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) has increased by 0.19 percentage points, from 7.36% in H1 2018 to 7.55% this year.
Vauxhall’s popular Corsa was up by 2,000 units during the first half of 2019, which equals 0.23 percentage point gain vs last year. It was also the UK’s second best-selling car in June, with over 5,600 sold. This news comes hot on the heels of Vauxhall announcing an all-new fifth generation Corsa. The new model features a battery-electric version for the first time, as well as a new range of high-efficiency petrol and diesel powertrains. The Grandland X SUV also performed well with sales up by 6,500 versus First Half 2018.
Vauxhall LCV sales were up by 0.4 percentage points in June and almost 1.5 percentage points in First Half 2019. This increase has been driven by the all-new Combo Cargo, the current International Van of the Year and What Van? LCV of the Year.
Practical, comfortable and economical, the Combo Cargo raises the bar in the compact van segment. This multi award-winning van is packed with all latest driver assistance and connectivity technology. Sales of Movano, the largest van in Vauxhall’s LCV range, were up by 0.35 percentage points.
