Luton – Vauxhall has been named ‘LCV Manufacturer of the Year’ at the 2021 GreenFleet Awards, at a ceremony held at the British Motor Museum in Warwick last night.

The ‘‘LCV Manufacturer of the Year’ award recognises Vauxhall’s work to offer fleets and business customers an electric van across its entire LCV line-up. Vauxhall’s multiple award winning all-electric Vivaro-e medium van is the UK’s best-selling model year-to-date in the e-LCV sector, with the Combo-e small van and the Movano-e large van completing Vauxhall’s e-LCV offering.

The GreenFleet Awards recognise the pioneering vehicle fleets in the private and public sectors which have risen to the environmental challenge during unprecedented times, as well as recognising innovation by the manufacturers who supply them.

Colin Boyton, GreenFleet, Event Manager, said: "In a sector that has seen a massive influx of options available to fleet managers operating commercial vehicles, Vauxhall has manoeuvred into the number one spot, based on electric commercial vehicle sales. With three models to choose from, featuring varying battery sizes, load capacities and range capabilities, we were unanimous in choosing them as the winner this year."

Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: "As a British brand, I’m proud to see Vauxhall recognised as ‘LCV Manufacturer of the Year’ by GreenFleet and we thank them for this award. Vauxhall is leading the electrification of the UK van market and is all about democratising access to electrified vehicles. With the All-new Combo-e, Vivaro-e and All-new Movano-e now available to order, we offer an all-electric version of each of our vans, further helping to reduce in-use emissions and bring the lower running costs and user experience of driving electric to even more businesses."

Vauxhall is the UK’s best-selling e-LCV manufacturer and will offer an electrified variant across its entire car and van range by 2024, and offer only fully electric cars and vans in the UK from 2028.

In July, Stellantis announced a £100 million investment in Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant to transform the site for a new era in electric vehicle manufacturing. Ellesmere Port will become the first Stellantis plant to produce a solely battery-electric model, in both commercial and passenger versions, by the end of next year, including the Combo-e and Combo-e Life, for both domestic and export markets. Vauxhall is also adding the Vivaro-e Hydrogen to its all-electric van range from early 2023.
